Killer Beer Map of Colorado

November 24, 2009 by icanhazbeerclub

A pretty great map of Beer distributors and breweries around Colorado.

http://beermapping.com/maps/citymaps.php?m=boulderdenver#lat=39.79482037706643&lng=-104.84115600585938&z=7

Mostly Denver/Boulder area, with some in Colorado Springs and the ski areas.  It’s missing a few key ones (Durango Brewery in Durango and San Luis Brewery in Alamosa, among others) but a great resource for the predominance of the Colorado population!

Thanks Sean for the link!

Love Affair

November 20, 2009 by Aaron

Beer. Is there anything more lovely?  With it’s seemingly infinite combinations of color, flavor and aroma,  finding a single beer to hang onto and love is almost impossible.  For me, I thought that beer was Gordon from Oskar Blues.  It had everything, strong aroma, copious amounts of hops and most surprisingly, it was in a freaking can!

I was in love.  Not the kind of love that feels warm and unconditional in both directions. It was kind you have for your kindergarden teacher, naive and one-way.

About a year later, I met HER.  A cruel backstabbing harlot of a beer.  She caught my eye with the same flashy “it comes in a can” trick that pulled me to Gordon.  Then her name sealed the deal.  Modus Hoperandi you wench!  The first taste was a mouthful of glorious hops, followed by a smooth refreshing finish.  ”Damn!” I said, as I pulled the can away from my lips in awe.  In one single beer she managed to spoil my misguided youthful love for Gordon.  Bitch!

Sometimes I find myself craving Gordon’s smooth embrace, then I see her price-tag.  Oh Modus Hoperandi, you treat me so well.  At half the price you simply can’t beat Modus.  My new Love!

Here is what BeerAdvocate has to say:
